Training and Education: Investing in the Future
As the need for mental health services increases, so does the demand for well trained mental health professionals. Hamm Clinic's Training and Education Program is our endowment to the community.
Each academic year, Hamm Clinic's nationally recognized training program provides specialized training and education for graduates and post-graduates in clinical social work, psychology, and psychiatry through intensive internships and fellowships.
The average caseload per student ranges from 3–18 clients per week. Our approach to training enables Hamm Clinic students to provide direct client care under close supervision.
Organized learning for students and staff is also provided though continuing education. These monthly in-services are taught by outside professionals.
Additionally, the Clinic sponsors a conference each year, usually featuring a nationally recognized speaker. Trainees, staff and other community mental health professionals attend these conferences. This is a unique opportunity to meet clinicians from the broader community.
