Services in Spanish

Hamm Clinic has been serving the mental health needs of the Twin Cities' growing Spanish-speaking population in a culturally appropriate way for over 10 years. Our initiative goes beyond the language difference, addressing cultural competency standards which we believe are an integral part of comprehensive mental health services.

Hamm Clinic's Spanish-speaking staff members emphasize the importance of honoring and understanding Latino/Hispanic culture and community expectations. For a client, the comfort of knowing a therapist can identify with his/her culture makes therapy more welcoming and effective. Our Spanish-speaking clinicians estimate that 66% of their Spanish-speaking clients receive treatment entirely in Spanish.

Hamm Clinic offers:

  • Bilingual front desk staff members, who answer general questions and take client information (in person or over the phone);
  • Multiple bilingual clinicians who conduct therapy sessions in either Spanish or English;
  • A bilingual psychiatrist;
  • A bilingual intake coordinator/case manager;
  • Hamm Clinic brochures and other printed literature in both English and Spanish;
  • Targeted community outreach presentations conducted by Hamm Clinic staff members in Spanish or with Spanish-language materials.

These services help fulfill Hamm Clinic's goal to provide the highest quality mental health treatment to all members of our community, especially as the community grows and changes.
