Senior Initiative

Issues of life transitions and loss are realities which can affect the well-being of people in their senior years. Seniors must cope with losses in many areas including:

  • Physical condition
  • Relationships
  • Independence—including potentially leaving their home
  • Changes in work and social status

Hamm Clinic's Senior Initiative addresses these issues within the mental health context. Our programs address the specific needs of seniors and those around them, including family members, care takers, and medical providers.

Often our older clients have complex medical and or social conditions. Our clinicians have a deep understanding of the aging process and provide empathic, effective therapy and consultation while working in concert with the environmental and social changes our clients face. In addition, Hamm Clinic partners with other health care and social service providers as well as family members to address these issues.

Hamm Clinic's professional mental health education seminar series topics include:

  • Loss and Depression in Seniors
  • Seniors and Anxiety
  • Cognitive Assessment and Medication with Seniors
  • Psychotherapy with Seniors
