Satisfaction Survey Study

An analysis of the narrative descriptions of 62 clients who completed our satisfaction survey was completed. The vast majority of feedback clients offered was positive, with "satisfaction" being both the strongest and most frequently occurring theme identified.

Clients reported great satisfaction with the climate or therapeutic milieu of the clinic, citing a feeling of a respect, a sense of being given "enough time" for their therapy, and a general sense that the clinic is run with both warmth and professionalism. Clients reported a strong sense of alliance with their therapists, and a sense of appreciation and thankfulness for being both supported and challenged. Many clients expressed gratitude as well for the sliding scale fee, saying they would not have been able to undertake therapy without it.

Themes around dissatisfaction included concerns expressed about therapist "neutrality," a desire for more "tools," the time spent on our wait list, terminations of therapy due to interns completing their training, and a desire for more referrals to outside resources. Hamm Clinic has responded to feedback by increasing the number of therapists to reduce wait time to see a therapist.
