Community Outreach
Too often mental illness has been viewed as shameful and disgraceful, leading to a skewed perception of mental illness and the people who live with it. These unrealistic perceptions prevent many who suffer from mental illness from seeking care.
Our Community Outreach Program works to overcome these unfair and unnecessary perceptions by educating the public about mental health issues and promoting the value of good mental health. We participate in local events and create opportunities to:
- Address the stigmas associated with mental illness
- Increase the understanding of relevant issues
- Strengthen relationships with diverse populations
- Promote well-being within the community
