Edward J. Dirkswager, Jr.
Mr. Dirkswager was elected as a Hamm Clinic Board of Directors member in December 2008. He is also a member of the Finance and Planning Committees of the Board of Directors. Presently he is a Senior Associate in a joint venture between Hamline University and the Center for Policy Studies. Mr. Dirkswager was a consultant to Partners Consulting from 1993-1999. He has served as the Chief Executive Officer for Lamat Corporation from 1992-1993, various senior executive positions for HealthPartners from 1983-1991, Director of Planning and Marketing at Group Health in 1979, and served in several Minnesota state government positions (Commissioner to the Department of Public Welfare, Assistant Commissioner to the Department of Finance, Director of Majority Caucus Research to the House of Representatives) as well as Consultant to the Commission on Minnesota’s Future, from 1973-1979. Mr. Dirkswager was also Assistant Professor in the Department of Theology at the College of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN from 1967-1973, and Assistant Professor in the Department of Theology at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa from 1965-1967.
He received his MA in Religious Education from the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC in 1965, and an MA in Public Affairs in 1976 from the University of Minnesota. Mr. Dirkswager received a diploma in Religion and Religious Education in 1962 from the International Center for Studies in Religious Education at Brussels, Belgium. He received his B.S. degree in Physics from St. John’s University, Collegeville, MN in 1960. Mr. Dirkswager attended Yale University in New Haven, CT 1960-61 majoring in Astrophysics and Celestial Mechanics.
Mr. Dirkswager has two publications, one in theology and the other in education.
