David W. Allen, Jr.
Mr. Allen has served on the Board of Directors since 2003. Previously serving as President and Chair of the Executive Committee, he currently is a member of the Planning and Governance Committees. Mr. Allen is the President and founder of PIE, Inc. He started in the health care industry in 1978 after graduating from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in economics. He has worked for PruCare, the Prudential Insurance Company's HMO division. He was the Executive Director of Central Oklahoma Medical Group in Oklahoma City, a multispecialty group practice. He was the Executive Director of Psychiatric Services of Houston, a medical group and psychiatric hospital management company. He co-founded The Chancellor Group, a nationally recognized consulting firm specialized in strategic health care initiatives. In 1995, he sold the Chancellor group to RSM MCGladrey, then the nation's 8th largest consulting firm, and became a principal and their National Health Care Industry Coordinator. In 1999, he became the President of Minnesota Specialty Physicians, a network of more than 50 independent specialty clinics serving the Twin Cities region.
